  • Conz is looking for essays from parents who lived through the 2007-2009 recession. How did you manage your money? Was childcare affected? Did your kids come back from college to live with you? Email pitches to cpreti@insider.com, rates around $230.

  • Rest of World is looking for experienced freelance journalists to send their pitches to mehboob@restofworld.org for Asia and indranil@restofworld.org for the Middle East and Africa. Please go through RoW’s pitch guidelines before reaching out to them. Pay has ranged but is usually at least $0.50/word.

  • The call for pitches for the next Green European Journal print edition is out now. “How do we rethink freedom for an era of far-right politics, deep polarisation, technological revolutions, geopolitical upheaval, and climate breakdown?” Deadline is March 26th. Usually pays 300-350 Euros.

  • Cake Zine’s seventh issue, Forbidden Fruit, explores temptation and transgression in the context of fruit. “We are looking for pitches about secrets, contraband, vice, and indulgence—if it’s irresistible, illicit, or intoxicating, we want to hear about it.” Pays $125-$300.

  • Sophia is looking for pitches for issue 005 of Digital Frontier Magazine – this one’s theme is OUTLIERS – details all in this thread. “OUTLIERS are the thinkers who raise eyebrows, the builders who innovate on a whim, the subcultures that shape society (without pomp and circumstance) – these are the stories I want to tell in issue 005.” Rates are £0.30/word, deadline is March 31st.
