Wow it has been a busy weekend for me! I can finally say we are close to the finish line when it comes furnishing our house but I think it’s a lifelong journey when it comes to evolving and designing your home.
I have finally found my routine and rhythm as a success manager and enjoy working with the students 1:1, reminded me of my days when I offered job search & resume coaching, as well as my resume revamps. I just don’t have capacity for that right now but who knows? Maybe sometime in the future, once the childcare problem has been resolved.

This Business Insider article spotlighted an American man who returned to the USA after working in Japan to grow his career. The plot twist? Life was better in Japan. I found this article interesting because as a Canadian living abroad, I share his sentiments.
While both my husband and I’s salaries were significantly higher in Canada, the sense of community, social responsibilities, and quality of life is better here, in Sweden. I think in the long-term, the latter does outweigh how much you make or how advanced in you are on the career ladder, because at the end of the day, we are all humans who crave meaningful connections, not a pay cheque.
Our employers & colleagues don’t care about us outside of our work hours, so why should we pursue our careers the way that we were meant to pursue life?
