Hi Career Besties,
I’ve had a really exciting yet busy week! First, my toddler and I joined my husband on a work trip to Stockholm, because a free hotel stay provided by his company, which so happens to be right next to the largest mall in Sweden, if not all of Scandinavia! One thing I really appreciate is how kid-friendly public spaces and private spaces are. The hotel had a really big play room (I would pay big $$ to bring my daughter to these in Canada), and the mall had a hugeeee playroom, and 2 play areas within the mall too. Then, we went furniture shopping for our new house and I was happy to finally see the pieces I’ve been eyeing online in person, and for it to be on sale, total chef’s kiss. I’ve been drawing inspiration from Pinterest and also from ChatGPT (of course…), and also making some blueprints on Canva with my visions for our rooms. This is what excites me now as an adult.
I also pulled a *ballsy* move, job-search wise, because I submitted an application for a role that had already closed (only by a few hours, darn!). One of my 2025 goals was to take more professional risks, so why not?! It was for a marketing role so naturally, I asked ChatGPT for some snazzy email subject lines I could use to entice HR, to hopefully consider my late application.
I’ve also officially started onboarding for my new role as success manager, slowly easing into the organization, I’ve been getting through my check-list of items, meeting new team members, and watching training materials, so exciting!
The best moment of this past week, however, was the vision board party I hosted with my friends through facetime. We talked about our themes, goals, ins and outs for 2025, and it made my entire week!

The World Economic Forum recently released their Future of Jobs Report 2025 and the skills required for them. I was surprised, yet comforted, to see a lot of jobs were safe from the AI takeover.
I was also extremely pleased to see the personal care aides as one of the fastest growing jobs, since this is my mom’s industry and she still loves to work (retired on paper, but still loves to earn some spending money). Were you surprised by any of the jobs on the list?
Unsurprisingly, the most in-demand skills were technological- AI & big data. Some newer skillsets were creative thinking & agility.
